egoism
egoism is a good thing when its intelligent. a nation full of egoists cant be pushed around like cattle. egoism is at the base of human rights. everyone should be allowed to make their own mistakes & triumphs. experience the best teacher. beware the person who talks about objective truth. celebrate the one who extols subjectivism. but its not just some who have the right to be egoists. all do & when egoists get into disputes there needs to be mediation

So how did you deal with bi-polar parents? I find it so hard sometimes. I don't mean to disrespect my mother, but it gets to be so unbearable at points. Any bits of advice you have would be helpful. Thanks for the input.
you have to have limits. ma if you do this i do this. training people is like training pets. there has to be a carrot & a stick unless you want to sacrifice yourself (to die). youre involved in a vicious power struggle which will end in the death of one of you unless you can persuade mom to be god & you the same. see my blog on advaita. these mds are very cunning people. sure they deal w. depression but dont we all. get back to me
The last thing any state wants is individuals. Individuals think for themselves and that robs the state of power which is a bloody good thing in my book.
states are a crutch for weak individuals which humanity has been since our beginning

but then there is the matter of voluntary states wherein one could drop out anytime to nonstate or an alternate state status
